Denver

The historical buildings, and house hunters will find a multitude of options.

Welcome to Denver

Hip vibes and a buzzing nightlife in Colorado’s capital city.

Named the Mile High City for its 5,280-foot elevation, Denver is a perfect blend of hip hotspot and laid-back cool. Packed with culture and creativity, Colorado’s capital city offers a friendly, warm vibe, gorgeous views, and a trendy restaurant scene.

Founded in 1858 as a gold mining town, Denver has steadily grown into a bustling urban enclave. It's hard to believe this dynamic city was once the site of humble Gold Rush cabins, especially since it has since evolved into one of the most innovative cities in the country. Architecture aficionados will fall in love with the historical buildings, and house hunters will find a multitude of options, including stylish townhouses, opulent estates with sprawling lawns, classic ranch styles, new construction builds, and chic modern structures.

People and Lifestyle

Denver residents are, like the city itself, cool, creative, and eco-friendly. Locals cherish this area for its effortless mix of city sophistication and outdoor recreation, and most residents take full advantage of Denver’s scenic playground. With bountiful outdoor recreation available both right in the city limits, and a short drive away, you’ll often find locals mountain climbing, hiking, white water rafting, or skiing.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Cultural and cool, Denver offers a wide variety of creative places to dine and shop. Larimer Square is an iconic gathering place, and is often considered the heart and soul of the downtown area. This is the city's first designated local historic district and it boasts some of Denver’s best bistros and boutiques. Catch up with friends over wine and cheese at Cru Food and Wine Bar or end the night on a sweet note at Hidden Gems. Known for wild combinations, this edgy ice cream shop offers Cheez-Its and cereal among its unique topping choices. The River North Art District, nicknamed “RiNo,” features contemporary art galleries and hip concert venues in chic, renovated industrial buildings.

Outfit your new home, and yourself, at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. This exclusive collection of boutiques is a premier shopping destination in Denver, including such retail powerhouses as Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Restoration Hardware, and Anthropologie.

Things to Do

Denver residents love the gorgeous summer weather and when the season comes to a close, they make sure it goes out with a bang at A Taste of Colorado. This celebration of all things summer is held every Labor Day weekend and features music, food, arts, and games.
Located in the heart of Downtown, Coors Field boasts a wide variety of unique events, breathtaking views, and, of course, sports. Catch a game or get a tour of the historic playing field. Fans of the Denver Broncos will want to head straight to the Empower Field at Mile High, Colorado’s premier sports destination.

You can’t have a place this gorgeous without the parks to show off all that natural beauty, and Denver once again delivers. Cheesman Park offers expansive lawns, shady jogging trails, a dramatic neoclassical pavilion, and plenty of special events. Spend your day biking, hiking, lounging with a picnic, or out on the trail with your canine companions. Washington Park provides 155 acres of stunning green space, including two lakes, tennis courts, walking and biking trails, two lush flower gardens, picnic areas, and endless outdoor activities.

Schools

Denver is home to an excellent public school district, as well as top private schools and higher education opportunities, including Graland Country Day School, which serves students in Pre-K through eighth grade, and the University of Denver, a private research university founded in 1864.
